#5 — Donkey Kong Bananza
The wild card of the launch lineup and the game that most people underestimated. Bananza takes DK in a completely new direction — fully destructible environments, a layered open world, and a surprisingly deep story. It is the most pleasant surprise in Nintendo’s recent history and it absolutely earns a spot on your Switch 2 shelf.
Best Snack: Banana chips. The answer is obviously banana chips.
Verdict: Better than any Donkey Kong game since Tropical Freeze. Do not overlook this one.
Which Game to Buy First
If your budget only allows one game at launch, it is Mario Kart World by a significant margin. It has the broadest appeal, the highest replay value, and the best multiplayer experience on the system. Add Zelda as your second purchase, then work through the rest of the list as your schedule allows.
