What is Nauctis?

Nauctis is a new plane where everything is underwater. Merfolk civilization is at its height, humans are the outsiders, and an apocalyptic danger lurks on the ocean floor. Coverage of the announcement describes sunken cities, gods who command the currents and two kingdoms at war.

The most interesting design note so far: since nothing really flies underwater, Wizards says a new evasion mechanic takes the place of flying. We’ll add the mechanic’s name and how it works as soon as it’s revealed.
