How rare are Iconic and Enchanted cards in Hyperia City?
Hyperia City has 204 cards, plus 18 Enchanteds, 18 Epics and 2 Iconics. All three are alternate-art versions of cards in the set. Enchanteds come in the pack’s single foil slot, so a pack holds at most one. Ravensburger doesn’t publish pull rates, so these are the best community estimates from earlier sets (they vary a lot, especially for Epics):
| Rarity | In the set | Estimated odds | Per 24-pack box |
|---|---|---|---|
| Iconic | 2 | ~1 in 1,500-2,000 packs | ~1-2% chance |
| Enchanted | 18 | ~1 in 50-100 packs | ~1 every 2-4 boxes |
| Epic | 18 | ~8% of packs | ~2 |
The Iconic and Enchanted estimates come from community openings of Wilds Unknown and Attack of the Vine, the two sets before this one. Treat them as rough, and check back after more Hyperia City boxes have been opened.
Is a Hyperia City booster box worth it?
Not if you’re hoping to profit. A booster box is about $148, or roughly $6.15 a pack. Using the estimates above:
- Enchanteds: 1 every 2-4 boxes at ~$160 each is worth about $40-80 per box, on average.
- Iconics: a 1-2% chance at a ~$1,700 average works out to about $20-30 per box.
- Epics: about 2 per box at ~$3 each is roughly $6.
That’s about $65-115 in chase cards from a $148 box, before the regular rares and Legendaries, which are mostly a few dollars each. Open packs because you enjoy it or want to play the set. If you want a specific Enchanted, buying the single is far cheaper than chasing it in packs.
| Product | What’s inside | Price (Oct 24) |
|---|---|---|
| Booster box | 24 packs | ~$148 |
| Illumineer’s Trove | 8 packs plus accessories ($49.99 MSRP) | ~$75 |
| Prerelease box | 6 packs, dice, promo card, deck box ($39.99 MSRP) | ~$44 |
| 2-Player Starter Set | Two ready-to-play decks | ~$30 |
The Illumineer’s Trove is selling well above its $49.99 MSRP right now. If you can find one at a local store for list price, it’s a better buy than the TCGplayer price.
What’s new in Hyperia City?
- Ink drops: a new kind of counter you can spend to pay 1 ink instead of putting cards in your inkwell. Unlike your inkwell, drops don’t refresh each turn, and each of the six ink colors uses them differently.
- Coco joins Lorcana, alongside A Goofy Movie characters and new versions of Mickey, Minnie and the princesses.
- What’s next: Into the Inkdark, a villains-focused set, is set for February 12, 2027, followed by Cosmic Quest with characters from WALL-E in the second quarter of 2027.
