Lorcana Into the Inkdark: Release Date, Collector Boosters and the New Illustrious Rarity

Short answer: Disney Lorcana’s 15th set, Into the Inkdark, comes out on February 12, 2027, with prerelease events from February 5. It’s a villains set, with Hades at the center of the key art, and it adds two big things for collectors: Collector Boosters, where every card is foil, and a new Illustrious rarity found only in Collector Boosters. The first two Illustrious cards shown are Maleficent – Biding Her Time and The Evil Queen – Commanding Presence.

When does Into the Inkdark come out?

February 12, 2027. Prerelease events at local game stores start on February 5, 2027, which is why some store listings show February 5. Both dates come from the official Disney Lorcana product page.

What is Into the Inkdark about?

Villains. Ravensburger’s pitch is that villains “emerge from the shadows” and get their moment to shine, led by one scheming hothead, and the key art puts Hades front and center, surrounded by glimmer crystals holding other villains like Captain Hook. The set’s story sends players through a valley of giant glimmers and mines to stop his plan.

What are Into the Inkdark Collector Boosters?

According to Ravensburger, every card in an Into the Inkdark Collector Booster is foil, rarer cards get fancier treatments, and your chance of pulling an Enchanted or Iconic card is much higher than in a standard booster pack. Collector Boosters are also the only place to find the new Illustrious cards.

What is the Illustrious rarity?

Illustrious is a new rarity that appears only in Collector Boosters. The first two Illustrious cards on the official site are Maleficent – Biding Her Time and The Evil Queen – Commanding Presence.

Retailer and fan reports say Illustrious cards are serialized, with only 23 copies of each worldwide. Ravensburger’s product page doesn’t mention numbering yet, so treat that detail as unconfirmed until it does. If it’s true, these would be the rarest cards Lorcana has ever printed.

Which Into the Inkdark products are coming?

• Booster packs and booster display boxes
• Collector Boosters: all foil, the only source of Illustrious cards
• Prerelease boxes for the February 5 events
• Illumineer’s Trove: a full-art box with 8 booster packs, 6 damage dice and more

How much will Into the Inkdark cost?

Official prices haven’t been announced, and early presale listings on TCGplayer are too thin to trust. As of October 25, two sellers list booster boxes from about $300, the Illumineer’s Trove is around $100, and two sellers list Collector Booster displays for close to $10,000. For comparison, Hyperia City’s booster box sold for about $175 in its release week and about $150 now, while older Lorcana boxes like Winterspell have more than doubled since release (see our 2026 booster box tracker).
