Best for young fans. Scholastic’s latest handbook packs stats on more than 1,000 Pokémon into 640 full-color pages, for $12.75.
It’s the gift that gets read under the covers with a flashlight. If your fan only cares about the newest games, the smaller Mega Evolution Handbook (January 2026) was $8.28.

Best for card players. A complete 60-card deck built around Mega Lucario ex, ready to play out of the box. It also has 6 damage-counter dice, a coin-flip die, 2 condition markers, a deck box, a strategy sheet and a code card for Pokémon TCG Live.
At $18.11 it matched its $18.29 TCGplayer market price, so you’re not paying a markup. It’s aimed at people who already know the rules, and Amazon had only 15 left when we checked.
4. Squishmallows Pokémon Pikachu, 14-inch: $24.99

Best for plush lovers. The official 14-inch Squishmallows Pikachu is big, round and very soft, and it had a 4.9-star rating on Amazon when we checked.
If the person already collects Squishmallows, this one’s the obvious pick. If not, the 8-inch plush above is half the price.

Best display piece. An 806-piece, 12-inch Pikachu with poseable arms, legs, ears and tail. It’s recommended for ages 6 and up, but it looks just as good on an adult’s shelf.
Order it early: Amazon listed it as shipping in 6 to 7 days when we checked.
9. Pokémon TCG 30th Celebration Elite Trainer Box: $89.99

Best for pack openers, if you can’t find it at MSRP. This Elite Trainer Box has 9 booster packs from the 30th anniversary set, a full-art foil Nidorina promo, 65 card sleeves, 16 foil energy cards, dice and a collector’s box.
Its MSRP is $49.99, so check Target, Walmart and the Pokémon Center first. Amazon sells it for $89.99 by invitation (request one on the product page), which is still $37 less than its $126.99 TCGplayer market price. Our 30th Celebration guide covers what’s in the set.
10. MEGA Pokémon Training Stadium: $92.03

The big gift for kids. 1,101 pieces with 5 buildable Pokémon (Pikachu, Machop, Eevee, Fuecoco and Hawlucha) and launchers so they can battle. It’s rated for ages 6 and up.
The pieces work with every other MEGA Pokémon set, so it’s a good base if they already own the Pokédex or Jumbo Pikachu.
What to skip
- Elite Trainer Boxes at two or three times MSRP. When we checked, Amazon marketplace sellers had Destined Rivals at $124.48 and Ascended Heroes at $183.71. A standard Elite Trainer Box has a $49.99 MSRP, and restocks at Target, Walmart, Best Buy and the Pokémon Center sell at that price.
- “Random card” lots. Bulk lots of 50 random cards are cheap, but they’re mostly common cards. A single League Battle Deck is a much better first set of cards.
