Avatar: Seven Havens Book 1 wrapped up on Friday, October 30, 2026, when Paramount+ released the last four episodes at once: Ghosts and Spirits, Battle of the Ruins, The Dome and The Root Chakra. The finale answers the two biggest questions of the season, where the anomaly came from and what happened to Pavi and Nisha’s parents, and then sends the twins in different directions for Book 2.

Spoiler warning: everything below covers the ending of episode 13.

What Happened in the Seven Havens Finale?

The finale opens with Pavi and Nisha trapped inside the giant spirit energy dome. Karthik can’t get them out, and the dome pulls the twins back into a memory they had both lost: the day their family broke apart.

In that memory, their parents, Pramodh and Saumya, slip away at night with Pavi and leave Nisha behind, hoping someone better equipped (Karthik) will train her. Nisha wakes up, chases them across the Harshlands and confronts them. Her fear of being left behind pulls in spirit energy, and that energy becomes the anomaly. Its bolts bring a rock face down on the parents.

When Pavi learns that Nisha caused it and kept it from her, the twins fight and get thrown out of the dome. Nisha gets ready to hold the dome back from Ellora, but it’s Pavi who stops it. She lets go of her own fear and sends the spirit energy up into the sky.

Who Created the Anomaly?

Nisha did, without meaning to. A lot of fans had guessed the anomaly was tied to Vaatu, the spirit of chaos from The Legend of Korra. The finale says otherwise: it was Nisha’s fear given form, which is why it kept coming back to the twins.

Co-executive producer Sehaj Sethi shut down the Vaatu theory in an interview with GamesRadar+, calling the anomaly Nisha’s “fear of abandonment” and a character moment, not a lore drop.

Are Pavi and Nisha’s Parents Dead?

It looks that way, but the show doesn’t confirm it. The falling rocks seem to crush Pramodh and Saumya, yet no bodies are shown. Asked about it by GamesRadar+, Sethi wouldn’t answer and said the girls will learn more about it in Book 2. That leaves the door open.

Pavi Opens Her Root Chakra

After the dome is gone, Pavi wakes up in the Spirit World and sees three past Avatars: Kyoshi, Aang and Korra. Korra guides her to her root chakra, which opens now that Pavi has accepted being the Avatar. Her second chakra shows her where she has to go next: the Floating Isles, a coastal Haven. When Pavi asks if the Isles are in trouble, Korra doesn’t answer.

Where Pavi and Nisha End Up

The twins split. Back in Ellora, Pavi pushes Nisha away, takes their mother’s stone and leaves across the Harshlands to unblock the rest of her chakras. Jae and Pavi’s cat monkey, Geet, go with her.

Nisha stays in Ellora with Karthik. The people who feared the Avatar now call her the Haven’s savior for holding the dome back. Her root chakra is still blocked, so her training isn’t done.

Did Korra Cause the Cataclysm?

Still unanswered. The only real clue is the episode 7 flashback, where Korra seems to be chasing someone in a car just before the cataclysm. In the finale she appears only as a silent spirit guiding Pavi. The creators told GamesRadar+ that what happened in Korra’s time will come out when it matters to the twins’ story, so don’t expect a quick answer in Book 2.

Is There a Post-Credits Scene?

No. The finale ends with the twins apart and Pavi heading out, and nothing plays after the credits.

When Is Seven Havens Book 2?

There’s no release date yet. Co-creator Michael Dante DiMartino told GamesRadar+ that Book 2 is fully written and in production, but he couldn’t say when it will come out. Paramount+ says more details on Books 2, 3 and 4 will follow later.

The bigger news came earlier in the month. At New York Comic Con on October 9, 2026, Paramount+ renewed Seven Havens for Books 3 and 4 and announced a new animated series, Avatar Kuruk: Wave of Chaos, about a rebellious teenage Avatar who learns the four elements on his own terms.

Here’s what the finale sets up for Book 2:

  • The Floating Isles: Pavi’s next stop and her second chakra. Executive producer Ethan Spaulding’s hint for fans: “get your surfboards.”
  • Ellora: DiMartino says Ellora still has a presence in Book 2, so Nisha’s story there continues.
  • The parents: the twins still have to deal with what happened to them.
  • Korra and the cataclysm: still the show’s biggest mystery.

How Did Book 1 Land?

Very well with critics: 100% on Rotten Tomatoes from 21 reviews. Fans are a little cooler at an 80% Popcornmeter, and the series sits at 7.9 on IMDb. Before the finale, the best-rated episode was episode 9, The Envoys: Part Two, at 9.1 on IMDb, and the lowest was episode 4, The Faceless, at 7.4.
