Standard ETB vs. Pokémon Center ETB: what’s the difference?
The Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box has 11 packs instead of 9, and its Kyogre promo has a Pokémon Center stamp. It costs $59.99 and is sold only through the Pokémon Center.
At retail it’s the better deal, at about $5.45 a pack against $5.55 for the standard ETB. At the $569.93 TCGplayer is showing now, with only 3 listings, it’s the worst deal in the set. Don’t pay that.
Is the ETB or the booster box better value?

For opening packs, the booster box. At retail it’s $4.49 a pack for 36 packs, compared with $5.55 a pack in the ETB. The Booster Bundle is also $4.49 a pack, for 6 packs.
For a gift or a first set, the ETB. You’re paying about $1 more per pack for the Kyogre promo, sleeves, dice and a box to store everything, which is what makes it the better present.
Where can you buy the Delta Reign ETB at retail?
- Amazon and Best Buy both have official listings. Amazon’s isn’t taking orders yet, so check back on release week.
- The Pokémon Center is the only place to get the 11-pack Pokémon Center ETB.
- Local game stores run prerelease events from October 24 to November 1, and sell the Build & Battle Box ($21.99 retail), the only way to open Delta Reign packs early.

- Preordering the ETB above about $60. At $133.50, 9 packs cost almost as much as a 36-pack booster box at retail ($161.64).
