When are the Pokémon Delta Reign prereleases?
October 24 to November 1, 2026. Select Play! Pokémon stores start selling the Delta Reign Build & Battle Box on October 24, so you can play with the set two weeks before it comes out on November 6.
Each store sets its own schedule and entry fee, so use Pokémon’s Event Locator to find events near you and call ahead, since spots can be limited.

- 4 Mega Evolution—Delta Reign booster packs
- A 40-card, ready-to-play deck with key cards from current and older sets
- 1 of 4 foil promo cards: Masquerain, Magmortar, Enamorus or Kommo-o, each with a deck built around it
The Build & Battle Box is $21.99 at retail. It’s the only official way to open Delta Reign packs before November 6, and Pokémon says the boxes will also be sold after launch if you can’t make an event.
How does the Prerelease format work?

40-card decks and 4 Prize cards, instead of the usual 60 cards and 6 Prizes. Games are quicker, and you build your deck from the 40-card deck plus whatever you open in your 4 packs.
It’s a good first event. The card pool is small, so nobody shows up with a tuned tournament deck.
Which Delta Reign prerelease promo deck is best?
You don’t get to choose, since each box has one promo at random, but here’s how each deck plays, based on Pokémon’s own breakdown:
- Masquerain: a Bug Out deck. Masquerain’s Bug Out costs just 1 Grass Energy and hits harder for each other Bug Out Pokémon you find, and Sacred Ash puts your bugs back in the deck to keep it going.
- Magmortar: a buddy deck. Its Buddy Boost Ability attaches Fire and Lightning Energy to Magmortar or Electivire, which powers Electivire’s Voltaic Hammer, at 60 damage for each Energy discarded.
- Enamorus: the forces of nature deck. With Enamorus, Thundurus, Landorus and Tornadus all in play, Incarnate Solidarity ignores Colorless Energy in their attack costs.
- Kommo-o: the most self-contained deck. Beat Scales attaches Energy to your Dragon Pokémon, and Kommo-o’s Hammer In does 170 damage.
Should you buy a Build & Battle Box online?
Not right now. TCGplayer’s cheapest preorder listing is $77.93, more than three times the $21.99 retail price. Stores sell them at their prerelease events, and they’ll be on shelves after November 6.

What should you bring to a Delta Reign prerelease?
- Sleeves for 40 cards, so your new pulls are protected while you play.
