What are the 4 MTG Star Trek Commander decks?

Each deck is three colors and built around a different corner of Star Trek. Here’s the lineup with the cheapest preorder and the average recent sale on TCGplayer.

DeckCommanderColorsGame planCheapest / average
Federation FleetJean-Luc PicardWhite, blue, redDraw cards and power up starships$73.95 / $89.39
Landing PartySpockGreen, white, bluePlay lands, especially differently named ones$74.97 / $90.53
Klingon FuryWorfRed, white, blackAttack every opponent at once$72.47 / $95.23
We Are the BorgThe Borg QueenWhite, blue, blackMake Borg tokens and steal creatures$74.95 / $91.14

Every deck includes a ready-to-play 100-card list, a traditional foil face commander with borderless art, 32 new-to-Magic cards, 10 double-sided tokens, a reference card and a deck box.

Which Star Trek Commander deck should you buy?

The full decklists aren’t out yet (as of October 14), so these picks are based on each deck’s commander, colors and announced game plan. We’ll update them when the lists drop.

Landing Party (Spock): the best first Commander deck

Spock’s deck rewards you for playing lands, with a twist: The box sums it up: “Strange new worlds” and “Trigger landfall.” Wizards says the deck rewards you for controlling a variety of differently named lands, and landfall effects trigger every time a land enters.

Landfall is the easiest Commander plan to learn, because your main job each turn is to play a land. Pick this one if you’re new to Commander, or you want the deck most likely to work straight out of the box.

Federation Fleet (Picard): the pick for Next Generation fans

Picard’s deck is about card draw and spacecraft. The box promises “Seek out card draw” and “Charge your starships,” which points to the Station mechanic from Edge of Eternities: you tap your crew to put charge counters on a starship until it becomes a creature.

Pick it if Picard is your captain, or you like decks that build up over a few turns. Station decks tend to start slow, then pay off once the ships are online.

Klingon Fury (Worf): the pick if you like to attack

Worf’s deck is pure aggression. The box says “Show your aggression” and “Hit the whole battlefield,” so expect effects that reward attacking every opponent in the same turn.

It’s also the most popular of the four right now: its average sale ($95.23) is the highest of the regular decks. Pick it if you want short, explosive games, and plan to add protection later, because aggro decks hate board wipes.

We Are the Borg (Borg Queen): the pick for control players

The box says “Grow your ranks” and “Assimilate the enemy.” The Borg Queen deploys waves of Borg tokens and takes your opponents’ stuff. The set’s assimilate mechanic puts a creature onto the battlefield under your control as a Borg artifact creature with a +1/+1 counter.

Pick it if you like stealing the table’s best creatures and winning the long game. White, blue and black is the classic control color trio.

Are the Star Trek Collector’s Edition decks worth it?

Each deck also comes as a $159.99 Collector’s Edition. It has the same 100 cards, but the face commander and all 99 other cards are surge foil, and the tokens are surge foil on one side.

Collector’s EditionMSRPCheapest preorderAverage sale
Federation Fleet$159.99$224.00$310.04
Landing Party$159.99$224.13$329.82
Klingon Fury$159.99$223.91$349.57
We Are the Borg$159.99$224.18$306.07

That’s 40% over MSRP before anyone has seen a decklist. Recent history says wait: the Marvel Super Heroes Collector’s Edition decks now sell for $89 to $161, and the regular Marvel decks for $34 to $60 (TCGplayer market prices, October 14).

Buy a Collector’s Edition only if you want the surge-foil version for your shelf and can find it close to MSRP. If you just want to play, the regular deck has exactly the same cards.

Is the 4-deck Commander case a better deal?

No. The cheapest Star Trek Commander Deck Case (one of each deck) is $309.11, or $77.28 per deck. Buying the four cheapest single decks costs $296.34 in total. Only get the case if you want all four sealed together.

When will the Star Trek Commander decklists be revealed?

As of October 14, Wizards has shown the decks’ names, commanders and themes, but not the full 100-card lists or the face commanders’ rules text. We’ll add every decklist to this page as soon as it’s posted, along with the reprints worth pulling out.

  • Prerelease events: November 6 to 12
  • Global release: November 13, 2026
  • Commander events at local stores: Commander Party runs November 20 to 26 and December 11 to 17. Wizards Play Network Commander events give out a Highly Illogical or Munitions Enthusiast promo card while supplies last.
  • Magic Presents: To Boldly Go: November 13, 2026 to January 28, 2027, with a traditional foil Solemn Simulacrum promo for players.

What to skip

  • Paying the “average” price for a regular deck. Recent sales average about $90, but listings at $72 to $75 exist right now.
  • Collector’s Edition preorders at $224 or more, unless you’re sure you want the foil version. Wait for the decklists and the post-release price drop.
  • The 4-deck case as a money saver. It costs more per deck than buying them one at a time.
  • Expecting signed cards in a Commander deck. The seven Headliner Signed cards (about 250 copies each) only come in Collector Boosters. Our Star Trek chase cards page tracks every one and what it sells for.
