MTG Star Trek Delays: Which Products Are Late, and Where

Short answer: Wizards of the Coast says some Magic: The Gathering | Star Trek products will arrive late because of production and shipping problems. In North America, only the Commander decks are delayed, and they may not reach stores until after the November 13 release. Play Boosters and Prerelease Packs are on track everywhere, so prerelease events on November 6 to 12 aren’t affected. Europe and Asia-Pacific have longer lists that include Collector Boosters.

Which MTG Star Trek products are delayed?

Wizards split the delays by region. “Past release” means the product may arrive after the November 13 tabletop release. “No delay listed” means Wizards didn’t name it for that region.

Will the MTG Star Trek prerelease still happen?

Yes. Wizards put this first: Play Boosters and Prerelease Packs are on track for both prerelease and release events. Prerelease runs November 6 to 12, and the set comes to Arena on November 10.

So if you’ve booked a prerelease seat, nothing changes. Our Star Trek prerelease guide covers what’s in the Prerelease Pack and how to build your Sealed deck.

What does the delay mean if you preordered a Commander deck?

In North America, your Star Trek Commander deck may show up after November 13 instead of on release day. That covers all four decks: Federation Fleet, Landing Party, Klingon Fury and We Are the Borg.

  • Keep your preorder if it’s at MSRP. The decks list at $74.99, and the cheapest copy of each on TCGplayer is now $75 to $80, up from $72 to $75 when we checked on October 14.
  • Ask your store for its date. Wizards says arrival times vary, so your local game store is the best source.
  • Plan around Commander Party. Store Commander Party events run November 20 to 26 and December 11 to 17. If your deck is late, the December window is the safer bet.

Are Star Trek Collector Boosters delayed in the US?

No. Wizards only listed Collector Boosters as delayed in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (English, French and German) and in Asia-Pacific. North American Collector Boosters aren’t on the delay list.

That matters for the set’s biggest pulls. The seven signed headliner cards, about 250 copies each, only come in Collector Boosters. See our Star Trek chase cards page for what they’re worth. Collector Booster boxes have actually gotten cheaper: the lowest TCGplayer listing is $565, down from about $657 on October 13.

What to skip

  • Paying a “delay premium.” Commander decks are drifting just above MSRP. Don’t pay $90 or more because of a few weeks’ wait.
  • Canceling a prerelease. Prerelease Packs are on track, so there’s no reason to skip your event.
  • Panic-buying sealed products in Europe or Asia-Pacific. These products are still coming, just later than planned.
