Iron Studios Sauron Unleashed Statue: Price, Size, Release Date and Where to Preorder

Iron Studios’ Sauron Unleashed is a 14-inch (36 cm), 1:10 scale statue of Sauron in full armor, standing over a lava base with the Eye of Sauron and the Ring’s inscription built into it. It’s $299.99 on preorder at Iron Studios, BigBadToyStore and Entertainment Earth ($305 at Sideshow), and it ships in late 2027. If you want one big Sauron for a Lord of the Rings shelf, this is the one to get. If you already own Iron Studios’ 2023 Sauron Deluxe, it’s a lot of money for a second Sauron the same size.

What does the Sauron Unleashed statue look like?

It’s Sauron in his armored form from the prologue of The Fellowship of the Ring: the tall spiked helmet, layered black plate over mail, a long cape and the giant mace in his right hand.

The base is the part that makes it an “Unleashed” statue. Instead of a plain pedestal, the line puts each character on a small scene. Sauron stands on the lava-filled ruins of Mount Doom and Barad-dûr, and Iron Studios’ close-ups show the Eye of Sauron set into the rock and the Ring’s inscription in the lava rock.

We haven’t handled this statue. It’s a 2027 preorder, and every photo below is Iron Studios’ prototype.

How big is the Sauron Unleashed statue?

It stands 14 inches (35.7 cm) tall with the base and takes up about 9 by 9 inches of shelf. That makes it the biggest Lord of the Rings statue in the Unleashed line so far:

One thing to measure before you order: a standard IKEA Kallax cube is about 13 inches (33 cm) tall inside, so Sauron won’t stand up in one. Plan for a shelf with at least 15 inches of clearance. Our display case guide covers cases with that much room.

Where can you preorder Sauron Unleashed?

Four stores have it on preorder. Three charge the same $299.99, so the difference is how and when you pay.

Is it the same as the Iron Studios Sauron Deluxe?

No. The Sauron Deluxe is an older Iron Studios statue from 2023 that listed at $279.99 and is now out of stock on Iron Studios’ store. Both are 1:10 scale, so they’re close in size. The Unleashed version is a new sculpt on the new scene base with the lava, the ruins and the Eye.

If you already own the Deluxe, the base is the main reason to buy this one. If you’ve been waiting for a Sauron, the Unleashed is the one you can still order new.

Is Sauron Unleashed worth preordering?

Preorder it if: you collect the Unleashed line or want a single large Sauron as the centerpiece of a Lord of the Rings shelf. At $299.99 it’s priced right in line with Aragorn, and it’s the biggest statue in the set.

Skip it if: you own the Sauron Deluxe, or you don’t want money tied up in a preorder that won’t arrive until late 2027. If you go ahead, Entertainment Earth is the low-risk choice, since it doesn’t charge you until the statue ships.

When does Sauron Unleashed ship?

Iron Studios and BigBadToyStore list the third quarter of 2027. Sideshow says October to December 2027 and warns it could ship as late as March 2028.

Is Sauron Unleashed a limited edition?

Yes, Sideshow lists it as a limited edition, but no edition size has been announced. Sideshow limits orders to 6 per person.

Yes, at Sideshow. Its Flex Pay splits the price into 2 to 4 interest-free payments, and the statue ships after the last one.
